Pub. ASCAP) Half way round the world, in Sarajevo A man in a tuxedo, sits and plays his cello I heard him on my car radio Rush hour traffic, stop and go He said .. we were standing in line for bread A bomb went off, my neighbors were dead He got his cello and went back to town Sat and played where it all came down One full day for each friend lost 22 concerts, oh what at cost He said "War is crazy, you know what I say is true" War is nothing for people to do." If it were me, I wonder what I'd of done Would I grab a cello or grab a gun Split seconds would mark my fate, musical passion or passionate hate The sceptic says, what can a cellist do Just one little person like me or you. But I heard his voice on my radio All the way from Sarajevo.. saying He said "War is crazy, you know what I say is true" |
